AGIA Affinity, a DOXA Insurance company, today announces the acquisition of Call A Doctor Plus, a resource platform that connects employers, universities, brokers and other organizations to a diverse suite of telehealth solutions through sales and marketing efforts. The organization will join AGIA Affinity, a DOXA Insurance company and full-service broker, marketer and administrator managing insurance and non-insurance benefit programs for over 100 affinity groups representing over 30 million members.
Call A Doctor Plus was founded in 2011 to save individuals and organizations alike time and money by providing them with convenient, 24/7 access to quality healthcare in minutes by phone, video or mobile app. The resource platform offers a full suite of telehealth services for medical needs including mental health, health advocacy, musculoskeletal, discount RX cards, nutrition and life assistance.
“The addition of Call A Doctor Plus to the AGIA team signals an exciting chapter for both organizations,” said AGIA President and CEO Matt Bishop. “As we look forward, we know this accelerates our strategic growth by expanding products and distribution channels, while allowing us to provide differentiated services.”
The post-pandemic healthcare market has permanently shifted, enabling providers to deliver a more diverse array of virtual services and offerings to users. Call A Doctor Plus brings convenient and speedy access to a variety of quality healthcare services to both DOXA and AGIA’s portfolios. Partnering with Call A Doctor Plus also expands AGIA’s distribution and product portfolio, directly contributing to the organization’s growth goals. Additionally, the outlook for the telehealth industry is positive and Call A Doctor Plus is positioned to capitalize on the opportunity for growth through its partnership with DOXA and AGIA.
“The Call A Doctor Plus team is excited to join DOXA, which is a leader in the specialty programs space,” said Call A Doctor Plus Founder and CEO, Lou Daniels. “Their scale, model, operating philosophy and growth plans fit well with Call A Doctor Plus and we are excited to partner with the DOXA team and expand its telehealth offerings nationwide.”
Call A Doctor Plus’ leadership and employees will join DOXA and AGIA and will report through Matt Bishop, CEO of AGIA. The organization will focus on its current priorities to achieve the 2023 plan to offer more telehealth services and continue to grow. The transaction closed on August 31, 2023.
